Pragati, based in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, is a grassroots non-profit organization committed to providing free and quality primary education to underprivileged children. Since its inception in 2002, Pragati has worked to uplift children from marginalized communities, helping them build the academic foundations they need to break the cycle of poverty and lead empowered lives.
Pragati’s mission is to enable underprivileged children make informed life choices by providing access to quality education, holistic development, and life skills.
Operating Model: A Continuum of Care from Early Education to Adolescence
Pragati’s two-tiered operating model addresses both access to education and continuity through adolescence—two major gaps in the lives of children from low-income families.
Tier 1: Transforming Government Primary Schools ( Nursery– Grade 5) into Centres of Learning Excellence.
Pragati supports four government primary schools in Gurgaon under a formal MoU with the Government of Haryana. These schools serve over 430 students. Pragati revitalizes school infrastructure, strengthens academic delivery, and integrates co-curricular and mental well-being components to create engaging, child-friendly learning environments. With a student: teacher ratio at 24:1, Pragati ensures meaningful student engagement and improved learning outcomes for the child.

Tier 2: Secondary School Scholarships (SSE program ) (Grades 6–12)
With this Outreach program, Pragati ensures that education doesn’t end after Grade 5. Through a structured scholarship program, it supports alumni who successfully clear entrance exams for CBSE-affiliated schools in Gurgaon.

Your donation of $150 a year provides a child the stable school environment, quality education, dietary supplements, medical checkups and social & life skill programs.
Sponsorship
Your sponsorship of $365 a year ($1 a day) enables a scholarship and ensures that a child gets the financial support to continue their secondary school education after graduating from Grade 5.
